Hospitalist job in Memphis TN

Locum Pediatric Hospitalist needed near Memphis, TN starting as soon as credentialed.

Schedule: 24hr Shifts - 7am-7am - Rounding 7a-4pm, call from hotel or home 4p-7a
Available for up to 10-15 shifts monthly
Providers must be flexible, looking for providers who can work a week at a time. Can do back to back shifts.
Sometimes physicians will tie off an extra digital (nursery) and perform periodic lumbar punctures in the Nursery or Peds Floor. No circumcisions. Physicians do not attend births.
Multidisciplinary rounds, see patients in Nursery & Peds Floor, some procedures required
NICU & Newborn Nursey Size: 40+ (only cover 14)
Average Patient Age: Peds Floor (35+ weeks for newborn)
Average Daily Census: Nursey 6-8, Peds 6-8 with outliers
Average number of admissions per night: given night shift may see 4-5 new babies and 1-2 PED
How many times do they typically get called at night? Variable depends on acuity of patients on the floor. Physicians do get calls yet this ranges extensively. There have been times when no calls have come in for 5 hours and other nights where it was much more frequent. Middle of summer is lighter than the other seasons, such as winter.
1 physician on at a time, must be ok to work alone
Requirements: BC Pediatrics with Hospitalist experience preferred, BLS, NRP, PALS required. Must have Active TN License or eligible to obtain a compact license.
Average credentialing time- 60-90 days
$500 referral bonus received for any referral who works 30 days.
