Job Description

Ajilon is seeking an Automation Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client near Pittsburgh, PA. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader who is having a record year and adding to their engineering team. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $75,000-105,000 per year and includes comprehensive benefit plans, Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with engineering and production personnel to de-bug, validate, and maintain manufacturing equipment
  • Develops effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements and designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment to ensure desired results
  • Troubleshoot PLC-based machinery on the shop floor and conduct follow up on resolutions
  • Identify and resolve process operating problems, investigate equipment failures, draft follow-up action reports, and share technical assistance with workers on the floor
  • Support maintenance and production personnel in maintaining production uptime
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during manufacturing process
  • Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
  • Ensure that all safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of automation engineering experience within a manufacturing setting is required
  • A minimum of 2 years of PLC programming experience is required, Allen Bradley and/or Siemens preferred
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience working with and designing HMI
  • Strong preference toward candidates with experience in heavy industry, steel, or related manufacturing industries
  • Ideal candidates will have experience working within SolidWorks or other CAD software systems
  • Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
